Yes, the same buxom wenches were probably dispensing tasty brews in Caribbean ports in the 1780’s, during the golden age of pirates. They had an element of pirate about them and seem to straddle the void between ye olde medieval wench outfits and the modern, sexy looking beer serving wench costumes that you see above. And of course pirate beer wenches had to be sharp as a tack, with all those scurrilous and double crossing pirates floating around.
